Message	the valves on just 1 side of the engine could be damaged. If the belt timing marks were not lined up (on the CAMs) correctly for that side but were OK for the other side --- one side could have issues. You could open up the t-belt covers and inspect the CAMs (not sure what this would really prove?). I'd just repeat the compression tests to verify the dealer results -- pretty easy to do yourself.
