It's really easy. First remove the shift knob. Wrap a towel around it and turn. Hard. Then remove the radio trim, and there's two screws at the bottom holding the center console in. Next pull out your ash tray (it just pulls out), and there's one more screw. Now the entire thing comes up, and you can remove the screws holding the metal trim around the shift boot in place. Installation is the reversal of removal.
