| It all depends on what gear you're in, if you're in first @ 25% duty cycle you're not exactly going to get the same MPG as fifth gear in the same duty cycle. You'd need to know duty cycle per RPM. So say you're at 10% duty @ 1.6k RPM. In first gear you're going 10 MPH, but because you're using 10% duty cycle according to the first post that means you're using 6 x 37cc per minute. So over 6 minutes you've used 1332cc (or 0.352 gallons) of gas and have traveled 1 mile, resulting in 2.84 MPG. Now figure 5th gear instead of first and at the same RPM you're doing 43 MPH, which comes to traveling 4.3 miles resulting in ~12 MPG. I think it's pretty clear that you wouldn't be at 10% duty at 1600 RPM, but you have to include the speed you're traveling in the calculation. But I don't get how duty cycle is calculated, it's not going to be based solely off RPM the more I think about it. Hmmmmmmm. I guess it just comes down to duty cycle and speed.
