I was tuck in traffic for a hour in 100 degree weather. I had my airconditioning on and my windows up... When I finaaly made it to the freeway I noticed my temp was rising to a little above half.. I turned my airconditioning off and the temp shot up to right below completely hot.... I imediatly pulled over and let the car cool down... while off the electric fan wasnt coming on and I thought it should at that kind of temp.. after the car was back down to half I started driving it again and made it maybe 2 miles and it shot all the way back up again.. I pulled over and let it cool off again.. I started it and let it run while I put water in the radiator.. it took maybe a half gallon and as sitting the car heated up again.... I left the car...my guess is that the thermostat is stuck..... or the waterpump is out..... any suggestions on how I should diagnose this is greatly appreciated... the car is a 1996 twin turbo...thank
