Went to start my 1990 TT today (after 2 weeks) and when the key was on - before turning the engine over - I got the usual fuel pump hum but followed by a loud "clunk" from somewhere under the seat area. This just repeated every few seconds - humm ..clunk, humm ...clunk. The car would start, but the sound continued so I turned it off. What part is under the seat that causes this? Something to do with the fuel pressure, or a relay maybe. After turning on it did not cut the pump and go silent (ie hold pressure) in the normal way. Thanks.
