Message the consequences, if oil got under?

I undrestand the design that goes into the bearing, and how the face toward the crankshaft has the wedges on the side to help allow oil flow, but it seems that some oil does make it behind the bearing.

The reason I ask is because I've spent a great time on the net reading about different scenarios that bearings get damage and proper installation of the bearings, and some people are very paranoid about no oil getting behind the bearing upon installation, to me it seems that oil does make it behind the bearing nontheless, so why be paranoid about oil getting behind the bearing on installation?

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
