| 1) best way to clean the parts is using Berryman Chem-dip; this will remove any oil varnish in a few hours. Just rinse with hot water and blow dry the parts afterwards. 2) there are a lot of little parts that can easily get lost; I used a thin rag to hold all the parts in a wad while I used compressed air to dry them. 3) oil the parts immediately after drying them to prevent any surface rust. 4) re-assembly of the check valve is a pain, after the 24th lifter, you will see what I mean. Make sure all of these are seated properly by listening for the audible "snap" or "click" when they go together.
