Message The intention is to remove any possibility for detonation.
As a side, I've also noticed that many two step rev limiters cut spark and not fuel. I understand the reasoning for this is that the fuel keeps the turbos spooled well as well as gives the car a greater explosive effect when coming off of the limiter. It would be beneficial in the use of the launch control that's used in this system.
