Message Did a plenum pull..removed the exhaust valve cover and the intake valve covers..

put the new gasket for the intake valve cover..while tightening it..i kept going as I saw gap (because of the new gasket i guess?) so silly me kept on tightening it and then I hear a CLACK!! and when I look the valve cover (passenger side) is cracked. So that ruined everything.

Now im looking for passenger side valve cover and would like to know if someone on this forum would know how much torque should the inake valve cover be at and the exhaust valve cover along with the plenum.

Please let me know if someone has the details. I would REALLY appreciate it because I will be pretty upset and kick myself LITERALLY if it happens again.

Also, is it normal for the valve covers not to be *gapless*..meaning no gap when i put the valve cover back on?reason I over tightened was because I thought maybe because of the gap..when the engine warms up..the gasket might shrink or get soft..and oil might leak again. So my question is if its alright to have gap?

thanks
