| I just pulled the upper and lower plenums on my 93 turbo Z to replace the valve cover gaskets and the detonation sensor (knock sensor), but now when I start the car, the engine makes a chugging sound and I can hear a whistling noise coming from somewhere between the engine and the firewall. The engine will run for about 20-30 seconds and then will peter-out and die unless I give it some gas. I have double checked all vacuum lines and electrical connections and am pretty sure I have them correct. I am thinking that it must be one or more of the following: 1) Vacuum leak 2) Plenum gasket(s) torn or improperly mounted. I did have to slide the upper plenum gasket a bit to get it aligned and the rubber seal wasn't entirely attached to the gasket in a couple of places (since I had to seat the plenum twice). 3) Bad electrical connections to the IACV, etc. There are 3 of those injector-style connectors on the rear of the plenum and all are slightly corroded. I cleaned them up as best I could. Would any of these cause or contribute to these symproms? Any ideas on how to narrow this down? Is there any way to test the plenum gasket integrity? Thanks!
