enough play at the top. In other words, when you first put your foot on the pedal and push down, you should feel a little movement before it starts to disengage the clutch. If you don't, then adjust the pedal. It's not hard to do. (If the problem was at the floor end of pedal travel, the clutch would not be disengaging properly, and it would not want to go inot first, or shift poorly, and/or try to pull the car even though your foot is on the floor.)
