| back and forth for a bit. One of mine did that for 3 cycles over about 2 months before finally failing. People sometimes have issues with the PTU sub-harness - the short harness that was used to adapt the newer style PTUs to the engine harness connector. Some folks elect to eliminate parts of that sub-harness and solder one end right to the main harness connection. You need the other end of that sub-harness to plug in to the PTU. Try jiggling the sub-harness when the car is idling and see if anything changes (just be careful of the fan blade)...
