Subject	Rear differential question.

Message	I was up under my car just now changing out the rear differential fluid and was wondering something. There is an exposed "sprocket" on each side of the diff on the axles. Are there supposed to be any rubber boots covering them,or are they supposed to be exposed like that? I searched "rubber boot differential" and it came up with 0 matches.
