| I was sitting out here on the open water (deployment) and got to thinking about my erratic idle issue. The general consensus was that it was probably a vacuum leak. I obviously can't test it until November but I was thinking about one issue. Wouldn't a vacuum leak be consistent? I started it up after the clutch job and had the erratic idle that wanted to shut down as soon as I let off the gas. A few days later I started it and she ran fine. Idle was great. It wasn't until I touched the gas to back out of my garage that she shut down. After starting her up again, the erratic idle was back. I spoke with Mike Smith and he confirmed that everything was put back properly when we put the turbo back in. He said he was sure nothing else was touched or broken from that. He did say it might be my battery causing it. I just replaced my battery in February when I came back to the states because something was draining it FAST. I had my battery hooked up to my jumper box during both the properly running startup as well as the erratic idle startups. It is the one time she ran fine until gas was applied that is stumping me. Am I right in assuming a vacuum leak is out the window since it started fine that one time? What I know is:
Most times is erratic idle Started up and idled fine one time until gas was applied Shuts off as soon as gas is let off If gas is let off SUPER slow, will stay running with erratic idle for at least a few minutes Battery is being drained as soon as jumper box is removed and key is turned off No ECU error codesFor the video and overview from the last post, CLICK HERE
