| just kept turning (and stud was snapped off by the window due to old age). Some people have posted about using snap-ring pliers to grab those two holes in the bolt plate. I ended up making a little tool for the job -- two 6 penney nails in a 1/2 inch strip of plywood, Dremeled off the nail ends after driving them in. I used the a bolt/plate I had purchased as the guide for the nails. Worked just fine -- main use was tightening things back up with the new parts (had to drill a small center hole in the wood to clear the bolt stud). Nail heads were just the right size for the plate. Here's a picture (ain't pretty, but it worked)...

 PS - Had no issues tightening things up. I guess the new nylon washers griped the bolt and glass good enough not ot spin?
