| The upper glider bolt on my driver side window sheared off the other day. I think I need to drill out the rivet headed bolt -- figured I post here for some advice? I've never seen pictures of this hardware assembled so here ya go (these are the new replacement parts): The major parts assembled (there are also 2 nylon washers + glider finish cap not shown)...
The pieces all apart - the nut/plate looks to have two holes for a special tool to turn it. I made a simple one that works - but it doesn't help. Note: There's not a lot of room between the back side of the glass and the door frame to work - maybe 3/4 of an inch???
The problem -- I can't get the nut/plate undone without the bolt turning...

I not sure cutting a slot in the bolt head will help? - but I'll probably give it a try first. There isn't a lot of material to work with there!!! After that if needed -- I'll drill out the bolt head so the stud can break off unless there's another way to go??? Trying my best not to mess up the window in the process -- just another day repairing some stupid ass problem on the Z!!!
