Check your timing and make sure its correct, I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what would send a signal to the det sensor in a N/A. In a TT its due to the wrong A/F ratio (to lean) most of the time due to some one trying to push to much boost with stock injectors. So Check your timing make sure your not way off, and then un hook your det sensor right behing the motor. There should be a sub harness there that plugs in here's a little helper to see where the plug is.... go to step nine and in picture #16 La-Z-Link once you get it un hooked take a volt meter switch it to ohms and do a ohm and continuity test. I looked for the how to on the test but i can't find it. So search for it or ask. Thats all i would know to do. I had to use a resistor for mine a few years ago. It works.
