| You put it over a normally inconspicuous piece of plastic that had the receiver on the other side it temporarily allowed the switch to function. Basically the same way that an electrically based relay works, except instead of a tiny electro-magnet allowing the contact, a physical magnet does the trick. At least that's what I inferred when I read nosduj's post and I have no real knowledge of said magnetic switch.. This way sounds pretty stealthy to me especially considering that the switch is invisible from the interior, though the off-delay relay in ked's post sounds pretty good as well.
