Message	and I do not see why you can not do what you are trying to do with the fuel pump relay. 1) I don't want the car to start until I activate a switch. I envision this as a contact/pressure plate switch (not an on/off switch). When pressed, it will send a signal to the ignition to allow starting of the car. 2) A secondary switch would be wired allowing me to bypass the system entirely - a valet switch, if you will. You should be able to go to any radio shack and explain what your needs are [ contact/pressure plate switch ] to be able activate/deactivate a relay automatically by interupting the ground wire ( for example ). If you disable the ignition itself,a thief will look for a switch.
