Subject	Car that won't go over 2500 RPM. What could it be?

Message	Someone I know has a Z ('90, automatic) which apparently won't go over 2500 RPMs. He was told that it could be that the MAF sensor is bad. Does this sound reasonable? How much and how hard is it to replace if this is the case. If not, what else could cause this behavior?
