I remember a friend of mine telling me how he stated home from college for the summer in his Barracuda and just after getting on I-10 all hell broke loose. Evidently he had alot of carbon build up in the cylinders. I suppose in your case I would swap out the ECU and PTU. Also I would check the valve timing contro solenoid valves and their connections. The shop manual referrs to intake valve deposits and the engine temperature sensor. I imagine the engine temp sensor could cause rich running which could cause carbon buildup. EF&/EC - 104 and 105
