Message	into something when the engine was apart? Sure sounds like some heavy duty blockage somewhere??? Maybe excessive gasket maker RTV has clogged up the t-stat or some other part of the system (only thing I can think of)... Maybe take off the front hoses off and try backflushing from the heater core lines?
