If your dings are like what a hail storm would leave, I.E. no creases, then here's a trick that works well. Wait for a hot day when the car has sat in the sun for a while and the surface temp of the metal is up. Take some dry ice in a rag (single layered), and apply directly to the ding. The metal will rapidly shrink around the dry ice and cause the metal to return to its original shape, as sheet metal does have "memory" . Just make sure to keep the dry ice size close to the size of the ding. Hope this helps.
