Subject	AC idler pulley removal

Message	Working on doing the timing belt change on the Z for the first time and I've come to my first obstacle. I'm trying to get the AC idler pulley off put the socket keeps wanting to come off and is starting to slowly strip the edge of the nut. I've used tons of PB blaster and tried heating it up to no avail. Through search I've seen people mention using a stud removal tool, is that the only way to go? Others say vice grips but I feel that will give me no leverage. Any other suggestions. Can I get one of those at Sears, Advance and Lowe's had nothing useful to help out.
