CCA is "cold cranking amps" but the term of "cold" is often misinterpreted for the battery as to the engine. Some people think it's the initial crank, as in the engine is cold which is incorrect. Cold cranking amps is just the amount of ampage a battery can output while the battery itself is under the temperature of 38 degree F. If you battery doesn't see these type of temperatures a better value for comparison would be the CA value. If weight is your concern, you will probably have to dish out a few more dollars as most lighter batteries start around $200 or so. Also, note that if Optima is your choice, the Optima line recently changed it assembly process and internal coil items that have brought down quality a bit. Look around for comparisons and you will see that the quality that built the Optima label to what it was, has fallen off a bit. But, good luck with your choice. Also consider replacing cables as well. You can pick up most O2 free cable at a good price if you know how to shop around.
