nothing has happened that has concerned me... the car runs fine as far as I can tell with that amount of timing reduction in a small part of the map... I'm a worry wart, and since I know that retarded timing increases EGTs I was wondering when retarding the timing just becomes too much.... The reason for doing this is that my car has had a light throttle / cruise pinging problem during warm weather (more so with the aircon on).... after trying everything and checking all the usual suspects, the only thing that seems to help is to reduce the timing in those areas.... but a few degree's wont do it, it needs to be considerably more.... as i've listed in my initial post, in some areas the timing is retarded about 10 degree's....
