| I have a 1990 twin turbo that is having an intermittent stalling problem and getting horrible gas mileage. Some symptoms are: Gas vapor escaping from the gas cap area after turning engine off. The cap tested good at the emissions place in 2007, and it holds quite a bit of pressure when I take it off to refuel; there is a very noticeable whoosh and visible gas vapor that comes out. Difficulty refueling to a full tank. The only way I can get a full tank is by putting the nozzle barely inside the filler door and holding it like that until full. Any other way, or inserting the nozzle fully in like I used to be able to do results in the pump handle clicking off like it's full already. this will happen repeatedly and before the tank is even half full. Gas vapor visibly escapes, and fuel pours out of a small opening towards the top of the filler neck and then goes back into the tank. Stalling at speed. while at a constant speed the car will suddenly loose power. I put in the clutch and try to rev it until it resumes running normally in a few seconds. Stalling just after startup. Sometimes the car will stall completely out just after starting it up. It can be restarted after a few tries and will then run normally. some notes: The engine is an IPP rebuild less than a year old. I doubt it is anything to do with that. New wiring harness, new injectors, new o2 sensors, new fpr and damper, plugs have less than 10k on them, no codes in the ecu. A new fuel filter, gas cap, and injector o-rings are on the way as well as new fuel line and clamps. There are no noticeable leaks, and the fuel system stays around 38 psi or so at idle. I cannot test fuel pressure while driving because the fitting I use leaks just slightly and it is a mechanical gauge. I'm not too eager to run the line out of the hood and into the cabin for an extended for an extended amount of time. The egr system, aivs, and carbon cannister have been deleted, as well as the prvr(iirc) system. My first check is going to be my check valve where the carbon cannister was, but I don't have my tools or stands yet so I'm limited to doing work from the top for now until my tools and stands get here in a few days. I'm just trying to gather a list of things to check and similar experiences so that when I do get under there I can do it efficiently. TIA
