Message I could have named this post " Nissan's clutch line poor design".

For those who read my previous post : http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=1049193
I read almost all the threads on this subject, and tried all tricks. I used 0.5 quart of DOT4 to bleed both clutch lines many times, and I had no bubble coming out. But the pedal was still soft. I could build pressure only when I had no freeplay and so when the valve that seals up the “cup hole” was always closed (more info here : http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=891903).

Well, there was some air in the system, but where ? Not in the slave cylinder which is a low point. So where is the upper point ? Along the upper line in the engine bay… but before the bleeding nipple.

Have a look to this pic :

The bleeding nipple is not the highest point. The highest point, where air is captive, is just a few inches before the bleeding point.

So I put the nipple at the highest point like this :

And TADAAA ! I only had to slightly press 1/4 of the pedal (I have speed bleeders) to see many bubbles coming out. I pressed the pedal a second time, just to be sure and now I have a lot of pressure as soon as I press the pedal, even the 1st time, even with 4mm of freeplay.

Hope this helps.
