Message Simple answer: Get an air hammer/chisel.

I just picked up a cheap one from Harbor Freight and it was the best $15 I've every spent on tools. Turn the knob to the highest setting on the air chisel and it will just TEAR through the spot welds. It's actually a lot of fun. Then I just touched up the rough spots left behind with an angle grinder.

Driver side, before grinding...

Just email me if you have any questions about the core support removal.
