its easier to just use wrenches than pulling the tranny. but if you can find a reason to pull the tranny like egr delete, rear main seal, clutch / converter, knock sensor. then pull the tranny its easier to do it with tranny in on a 5 speed they have more room. Auto tranny is hard. i spent about 4 hours (not solid hours) doing it with a lift one time on my auto. then i realized it takes less time to R&R the auto tranny. 5spd tranny can be R&Red in less than 2 hours on a lift. But auto tranny pulls suck compared to 5sp.
