| I talked with Mike Smith yesterday about a noise problem a customer has with his 98 spec transmission. I have the same issue with mine. I found out that the break in oil that ships with the transmission should only be used for a few hundred miles under light load, and then changed out for a quality synthetic. The break-in oil can't handle high loads, and will cause the input shaft gear and counter gear teeth to become polished, which causes a whirring noise most noticeable while idling in neutral. Wish I would have known this before...sigh I'm wondering if redline shockproof would help with this?
