So over the weekend I've decided do run a compression test. Z was running like crap for a while, horrible idle for the first 6-9 minutes when I started the car, miss fire, timing is way off, basically thinking about pulling engine out again. The compression results puzzled me slightly. Front / I I \ 00 psi-O O-117 psi 30 psi-O O-107 psi 60 psi-O O-105 psi Back Driver Passenger I started compression test on passenger side front to back. Engine warmed up, all spark plugs out, full throttle on the test, cranked engine about 8-10 times to get final readings.
Now the passenger side was disappointing but i was expecting low numbers, after all this engine is old. Once I got to the driver side, first cylinder 0psi. Hmmmm maybe I am doing something wrong. Checked all the connections checked the battery, everything seems to be fine. Rechecked the first cylinder still at 117psi. Mmmkkkk so got back on the driver side. next cylinder 30psi and the last one 60psi. I added some oil in the 0psi cylinder retested got 10 or 15 psi. My guess wold be the pistons. Anyone has any thoughts to this? I guess engine pull is inevitable. Cheers. -Alex
