Message the oil cooler is vulnerable. if it was 100% flow thru oil cooler design, what happens if the oil cooler springs a leak, or gets blocked up. then the motor gets starved for oil, which as we all know, isn't good. it is a super rare occurance, yes, but radiators spring leaks, get blocked up and the same for the transmission coolers. while those fluids are important, they're not as important as oil.
