A local Z guy had me put an ad in the paper for him to help in selling his silver '91 TT. My friend (Joe VanDzura) got a call from a guy that wanted him to bring the car to an abandoned mall so the guy could drive the car around there. But what puzzled Joe was the fact the guy didn't ask a thing about the Z... not even if it was a TT or not. Joe worried wanted to meet at a more public spot.. in front of a gym. Reluctantly the potential buyer agreed. Joe drove to the location and noticed a man walk from way in the rear of the parking lot. The man was a rather shady looking character. Once he met Joe, one of his 1st words were "can I see the keys?" and also "You by yourself?". Yes, it was very shady. Joe lied to the man and told him he had a buddy inside and he needed to get him first. When Joe came back outside the man was gone. Joe thought he got lucky and didn't get mugged and or robbed. Joe sped off home from the gym and noticed someone following him from the gym. He sped up to loose them and they were right there with him. Stopping at a red light he noticed someone get out of the car and start to run up... Joe floored it on the side and turned and got out of there. Luckily, He lost them.
I wanted to warn all you guys out there. Joe didn't bother taking myself or anyone with him which could been his ride, money and even his life. Be careful out there guys and learn from this potential tragedy.
