Message your EGTs will read anywhere from 200 to 300 degrees cooler...
there is nothing (NOTHING) "safer" about running them after the turbo.

I don't like the idea of machining my turbo inlet housing either... Every bit of research I've done says to put them as close to the cylinder most likely to offend or go lean... (ie, within 4 inches). This will yield the most accurate data.

However, if you just want an LED gauge that bounces while you drive, you can get those from Nopi for $20.oo.
