| He will end up in 4th gear, even thought I posted that 3rd will redline at 115mph with a 7200 rev limit on those tires. You would not want to use 3rd gear to redline because your in a lower gear and it will not put the same load on the motor at the 1.0 4th gear will. This is why you see Dyno runs using 4th gear. It's a great load on top end and not an over drive gear. So if you where to see a Dyno pull using 3rd gear as it's top gear, you'll see less of a power band vise 4th. 285/35/18 in 3rd at 106mph = 6625rpm ( 1.302 gear ratio ) 285/35/18 in 4th at 106mph = 5088rpm ( 1.0 gear ratio ) The 106 trap speed can be a great deal number of things, yet it is not a bad number at all. Best I did on my 18's was 110 in 90 degree's my very first time out at the track ( 13.1 at 110 ). More traction problems than I care to try again and the weight of my particular rims is just insane to race with. It's hard to look good and be fast in a 1/4 mile,,, lol.
