| Contrary to what many believe, peak HP numbers don't say much about your cars ability to accelerate. What really counts is the shape and location of the torque curve. Since I have not seen your dyno charts I can't comment specifically. Most highly modified TTZ's, however, have a fairly peaky torque curve. This means that to maximize acceleration (which is what your typical drag race is all about), you need to keep the engine in a very narrow rpm band. Unfortunately, the stock transmission ratios make this very difficult. The engine on the Z06, on the other hand, has a very flat torque curve and thus give good acceleration across a very wide rpm band. I have said it before and I will say it again. The Z is not a drag racer.
