| Message | one has to find the reasons why the Z32 was not imported to the US after 1996. Unfortunately, the answer lies within the decreasing sales of sports cars, especially the Japanese sports cars (300ZX, 3000GT, Supra, RX-7). But this decreasing sales trend didn't come about on its own. It was brought about by the growing popularity of practicality and frugality, which led to the growth of SUV ownership. Although sports cars were the flagship publicity items for manufacturers, they did not provide the financial backbone. They drive an automaker's image, but their sales are not what makes revenue. Granted, the Z32 design made a remarkable dent in automotive history, but it is its complexity that drove it to its demise in the US. After a Renault takeover of Nissan, they realized it was time to bring back Nissan's performance image, and thus, we are introduced to the 350Z. Remember that the 350Z may have not made it into production if it hadn't been for the Renault takeover. Do not take for granted the Z41 (350Z), for it is Nissan's first step back into the sports car arena since it almost went into bankruptcy. So to bring back the Z32 (or a design like it) will take time. It is never easy, but you wait. Nissan is listening to us and looking to make the world forget about the greatful Z32TT ... soon enough.
