Message when you say threshold RPM, do you mean the RPM at which 0.1psi of boost is obtained? OR do you mean the RPM at which the turbos really kick in?

also, what are your definitions for SPIN and SPOOL? it seems like you are using different definitions, whereas i would tend to use them interchangeably.


: threshold RPM is almost always identical, there is some non-emperical evidence that shows that a ball bearing turbo will SPIN up faster while under load, but that's not the same thing, theres nothing special about a ball bearing turbo that makes it spool faster than any other turbo, for the most part a non-ball bearing turbo will have a smoother boost curve.
