Message	If that's the case, then there ought to be a formula that determines the ratio of antifreeze to water based on optimum engine temperature, coolant system pressure, and average climate temps. Another question that I had after Turbodog's post... Do race cars use pure water, or a mix of water and something else? I would think the engineers almost any flavor of racing would have figured this out by now. Sounds to me like it's a tradeoff b/w maximum temp (at normal to low pressures) and specific heat of the substance being used.
