I've been doing a lot of searching and reading on TT.net and seemed to get a mixed respone. SOME people say that the 1 piece is "annoying" in that it causes a hum or vibration at high speeds (others say it does nothing of the sort). However, this does make sense because it will transfer vibrations through it more than the 2 piece unit will simply due to its solid nature. I spoke with John at Powertrain and he confirmed this. He said that for the same price ($330) they can make me a 2 piece w/centerbearing or a 1 piece steel. Both are for the TT. He recommended that I go with the 2 piece because I do a lot of highway driving and therefore would experience the vibrations some people talk about with their 1 piece. The 12 lb weight difference (29.x stock vs. 17lb 1piece steel) doesn't matter to me. Nor does the lack of a CB for longevity purposes. The U-joints are replaceable on the 2 piece from powertrain unlike stock. If I can get a 2 piece with replaceable u-joints for less than $330 please let me know. TIA
