I have the twin 10" (maybe 12, can't remember...), they flow 3000cfm, which is more than a stock setup at anything below ~3000rpm. So if you're at 3000rpm on the interstate, the fans are unnecessary anyway, you're already cramming tons of air through the radiator at 80mph. Although for you, it might be different because of your FMIC setup. I can have my a/c on full blast and the fans off at anything above 50mph, and the temp doesn't budge. Even turning only one fan on in 95 degree heat with a/c on full blast while stopped at a stoplight is more than sufficient to keep the temp from going up. I had to do a little trimming of the shroud, but only because my TT is automatic, and there are extra cooling lines running into the radiator; it otherwise fit perfectly. Bottom line: they keep my car cooler than the stock fan setup, are quite a bit louder, and give me something like 7hp back from the fan clutch :) Kez
"Pulled the blower fan down from behind the glovebox and there was a mouse nest inside the cage fan - mom and 6 babies. Mom was dead and the reason for the smell - petrifying fast - but the babies were hanging on. At least until I fed them to the cats." [ZXtaZTT - June 19, 2002] |
