People are going to buy a car that best suits their needs or wants. As far as the HICAS is concerned, the most skilled drivers/road racers (not drag racers) prefer to eliminate the HICAS systme, because it's very hard to predict what the system will do when; because of HICAS it's a little harder/trickier to steer your car around corners with the gas pedal. Yes the Z does have slight tallish gears, compared to some other cars. The Z even without the HICAS is a little more twitchy/nervous at the limit compared to the SUPRA because of the shorter wheelbase. No amount of suspension tuning can make up for either a short or long wheelbase; every wheelbase has its own characteristics. You want to beat a SUPRA on a road course, pick a very tight one; their longer wheelbase make it more difficutl to get around tighter roadcourses.
