Message It will take much more energy to get the heavier truck to the same speed (Kinetic Energy = mass x velocity^2). With the same amount of power from both, it will take longer for the heavier truck to get it's mass moving, but the only thing that is limiting top speed is the drag on the vehicle and the gearing.
