| and i was doing all the prep work because its currently being painted. Originally the drivers side fender got whacked in an accident so this was the whole reason it was being painted in the first place. I found a used fender from a TT.net member and had it in a few days. Once the Z was in the body shop i removed the hood and both fenders so we could paint them seperately and i could scrap the rock guard off of them. Well my brother had a set of rims he said would look good on the Z so i jacked the front end up and put the rim on, and i just set the passenger side fender on so i could get an idea of how it would look. Well I put the stock wheel back on and jacked the car down and then a friend showed up who had never ridden in it. We were out in an industrial park with no traffic so I told him we could go out for a quick spin. We hopped in and took off. I did a full accelleration run up to about 50 and about that time THUNK--all i see is the passenger fender fly off and flutter up into the air behind me (much like genic's situation) and land in the ditch I go back pick it up and drive with it hanging out the window to the shop and my brother comes out with this puzzled look on his face and sais to me "you know ive heard of getting your doors blown off before, but the fenders?" haha very funny smartass! I searched ebay and found a parts dealer located a couple hours from me and had a new passenger fender shipped to me in a few days. Thank god everythings almost finished!
