Message	since mine had 96K miles on them I decided to replace them and since I was replacing I upgraded.. The lighter retainers help reduce weight on the valve train the lighter the valve train the more efficient it becomes which in turn makes the valve less prone to harmonics and allows for higher rev speeds. In my specific case I will only be turning my car to 8000RPMS but may goto 8500 if I need to.
