| I watched them all, drove them too. Friend and former Z owner here has a 94 Supra with a T78 and lot of other bolt on. Good friends with Tony B out in KC, MO with the fastest 1/4 time on stock turbo's no NOS of 11.2 at 126 ( he now has a single set up ) and Steve H out there as well with his two ( 94 and 96 ), the 96 was around 650rwhp and over 700 with his NOS kit. All bolt on's neither touched there motor internals. I looked over Tony Dyno's and was just amazed at his numbers on stock parts. But what's easily forgotten is there Turbo's a bigger and they come with 540cc's injectors. Now throw in the other things like a boost controller and straight exhaust and it's easy to see where it comes from. He has adjustable cam gears to, to extract that hidden power. Plus the big thing on his 1/4 runs, is using a Philip Long 2 step. This little device builds upto 6lbs in manual cars just sitting on the line waiting to launch. Big, big advantage. Look over there now on Supraforums and you'll see a White Supra that just ran 10sec's on a stock fuel system using that 2 Step. So look at a Z with Sport 500's on a good running car with 555cc injectors. See similar numbers as stock Supra's? Sure you do :). The cost between to two cars from the start gives the Z owner a $10,000 avg. leeway to make those changes with labor involved.
