Message	in the case of the hoses, connectors, and many other components, ambient air is the only way to cool them off... introducing cooler air while the car is moving helps to reduce temperatures and then when you park with the hood open it further allows the trapped heat to escape... there's not a whole lot of effort involved in pulling the hood release so even if it makes a 5° difference, why not do it?
