Message I read that stock valves start floating at about 7500rpm, at which point you get improper sealing and lost compression because the air/fuel mixture is burning and squirting past the valve before it closes. Closer to 8000rpm you're playing with pistons hitting the valves.

I was contemplating this upgrade when I was rebuilding my engine. I decided against it because when I looked into get the stiffer JWT valve springs to safely have the higher redline, I saw that I'd have to upgrade the valve retainers, valve guides, something else I can't remember, and then someone said that solid lifters should be considered for revving to 8000 too. It was like $1500 for all of it, so I decided to leave everything alone :) But best of luck, I hope to do an NA rear some day. I think you can have quite a beast :)
