Message The SRT is a four cylinder.
It's turbo is generating 14psi, but at a lot less flow.

We know for a fact that TD-06 40g turbos flow a shitload of air.

If you have an intercooler in the way, it will become a bottle neck.
If you have an improperly sized intercooler in the way, it becomes a 4' tall brick wall.

You also have to take into consideration the fact that there are essentially two engines. a 3 cylidner engine with a TD-06 40g trim turbo. think about it. would an SRT neon guy even consider such a large turbo? NO WAY.

Again, it comes down to hype versus realistic goals.

I've never seen the intercooler on the SRT neon thingy, but I bet it's comparable in volume to a standard upgraded side mount intercooler.
